Daddy! Tell the Packers to go away! They're being mean!

Poor, poor Javon. He's such a manly man isn't he? Turns out that when the going gets tough he wants to run away and have his daddy fight his battles for him. Well, his stepfather, Charles (in Charge) Goldsmith at least. Here's some quotes from the article from this self-important idiot:

[Goldsmith said]"He doesn’t want to do like ‘T.O.’ (Terrell Owens) did and cause a big disturbance. He doesn’t want to do what Mike McKenzie did. "

Of course not, those guys went to the media and made absolute demands and voicing their dissatisfaction in public, and Walker is, umm doing the same thing. But according to daddy, this is completely different. Not sure what world he is living in, but whatever floats your boat.

"On Jan. 20, Goldsmith said he had a 30-minute conversation with Thompson in which he spelled out precisely why his stepson would never play again for the Packers and that he wanted to be traded."

Wow, I'm sure Ted Thompson is just reeling after being scolded by Javon's daddy. Because if there is one thing GM's in the NFL are afraid of are the parents of players.

Does Goldsmith ultimately expect the Packers to trade Walker, as they did with the disgruntled McKenzie in October 2004?“I think they will,” he said. “I don’t think they’re going to have much of a choice. We’re hoping that some rational thought will take place and Ted will realize that"

Yep, Ted's the irrational one. He's tryting to get out of a contract and whining his little ass off to the media and having other people fight his battles, oh wait, that's Javon and his daddy.

“They watched how Green Bay let those two guards get away and let somebody else pay them more money. They watched how Darren Sharper had to go to Minnesota. They watched how (Ryan) Longwell signed with Minnesota and didn’t even give Green Bay the opportunity to match it.
“They’re watching what (Aaron) Kampman went through to try to get his money right up to free agency. Ahman Green played here and got all those yards and he gets a one-year sorry contract. There was the Bubba Franks thing."

Does he even pay attention to this team or football in general? Wahle and Rivera got some of the highest contracts for guards in the NFL last season and the Packers had extremely little cap room. They had no choice but to let them go given they could not match the deals. Sharper was due to make 8M and again, the Pack had no cap room. Sharper was able to find the $ he wanted in MN, as they had the room. Longwell only wanted to kick in a warm climate or a dome and he came out and said so, it wasn't due to the Packers being cheap. Green has had 2 straight injury seasons and a torn quad. Given that nobody was willing to take a chance on him except the Packers, I think he should be happy as hell. Sorry contract? He can make 5.5M. But that must be just chump change to the Walker family. Bubba was tagged so that the Packers could have time to work out a great deal for him once they got their cap under control and Bubba got a great contract. Again, this guy is in such a dream world it's funny.

On Brett Favre: “He didn’t even pick up a phone as a leader and call Javon. Never has he once called Javon. He didn’t have to go to the media."

But apparently Javon felt the need to go to the media right from the start. Pot, meet Kettle.

Amazing that Javon is surprised that he acts how he does, and there is fan backlash. The guy has said that he will be a cancer on the team if he stays and expects everyone to pat him on the back. His dad also says that other players see what's going on and it reflects poorly on the Packers. But he is discounting that it is reflecting extremely poorly on his stepson. Other players see that he is willing to be a cancer and ruin a team when he feels "disrespected". Boy, that's one teammate I bet they would be falling all over each other to get.

I say make him play or let him sit and pout.
This went on last summer and amazingly the guy suited up. He just took everyone down by whining.
